I purchased one of your pocket consoles last fall.While I did not have any particular need for it, it just seemed like a useful device to have. Besides my day job as a mainframe software engineer, I am also in the role of LD for a medium-sized church in South Florida. Last month, while changing planes in Atlanta on Sunday morning, I received a call from the church sound tech letting me know that none of the platform lights or house lights were coming on. After trying a POR of the light console, we determined that there was no DMX signal getting to lights.

What could I do from Atlanta?

Then I remembered that I had left the Pocket Console at the church. I was able to tell the sound tech how to hook it up and how to find the patch map on the down console and enter the patches into your console. We had worked through the first one when I had to board for a flight to Dallas. After hanging up, the sound tech was able to move the rest of the patch mapping over and run the service from your console. When I got to Dallas (after the service was over), I called and found out that with the exception of the people that were in early to see the initial panic, nobody knew that there was even a problem!

In my mind, the Pocket Console paid for itself that morning. Not only did it do the job, but the programming was easy enough for a non-lighting person to set it up and manage it with minimal telephone support. What a great product! I have recommended it to others as a fallback device.
